Activists to your posts!

Grab your signs people, it’s that time again! Marc Emery will be sentenced in mid September. Shortly after that, Minister of Public Safety Vic Toews will begin considering Marc’s repatriation.
That is why on September 18th there will be world wide rallies to remind Vic Toews, Stephen Harper and the Conservative Government that people throughout Canada, and across the world, want Marc Emery brought back to Canada and set free. So far, confirmed events include Vancouver, Toronto , whitby (http://whyprohibition.ca/event/free-marc-emery-rally-whitby), and Saint John’s (http://whyprohibition.ca/event/free-marc-emery-rally). If you want to host one in your home town, post it in the comments section here, as well as on http://www.whyprohibition.ca. Use their shout out function, to invite all whyprohibition.ca members in a 40 km radius. The Hashmob will be out in droves, gathering at noon at the U.S. Consulate 360 University Ave. Bring your signs, t-shirts and flags, and join us to make our voice heard!

Toronto Hash Mob Help CALM

August 6th, 2010 by admin under Uncategorized

We’re quoted in Toronto Sun regarding the raid on medicinal marijuana clinic CALM.

The Toronto Hash Mob vowed to support Tapiero, 38, who founded Cannabis As a Legitimate Medicine (CALM), and ran as a Marijuana Party candidate in the 2000 federal election in Toronto-Rosedale.

It’s still early in the planning protesting stage but I believe Toronto Hash Mob is representing tomorrow with a full on honor guard for CALM. Anticipate us at Old City Hall on Queen St. West around 1 p.m. with banners, literature and flags.

As activists Toronto Hash Mob show up to protest prohibition. The travesty is prohibition.

Help keep us fresh!

August 5th, 2010 by Dubs McPuffen under Uncategorized

Here at hashmob.ca, we like to keep things fresh (or dried and cured, depending what “things” we are referring to). We strive to provide articles that are interesting, informative and most of all fun! But, as creative as we are (like any good stoner, we can knock off haikus while making a bong out of a mango), we can’t do it alone. (anyone know where to get a mango?) We rely on you, our loyal readers, to tell us what you want to hear about. Did you plan a protest? Send us pictures for our gallery, or write/record the event, and we will do our best to post your efforts, so others can be inspired into action. If you have a question you need answered, or a topic you want explored, drop us a line. Leave suggestions in the comment section, or email me @ hashsassin420@gmail.com.

Toronto Hash Mob Weedy Week Ahead

July 20th, 2010 by admin under Upcoming Events

In an effort to carry on the fun and excitement that was had this past weekend at the Treating Yourself Medical Marijuana & Hemp Expo, Toronto Hash Mob plans a full slate of stoner summer fun this week. On Wednesday, July 21, we will be gathering at Vapor Central at 3:30 for bong hits and joint rolling before we puff down for 420 then it’s off to the Royal Ontario Museum. The ROM offers free visitation to the public every Wednesday between 4:30 and 5:30 PM.

After the ROM we head down to the Art Gallery of Ontario to enjoy some more free culture enjoying some of Toronto’s finest herb along the way.  The AGO is free to the public every Wednesday between 6 and 8:30 PM.

For those who are in the mood to laugh we will be back at Vapor Central, for Bryan O’Gorman’s Weedy Wednesday Comedy Show.  Every week Bryan brings Toronto’s top comics to Vapor Central for the largest independent weekly comedy show in Canada.

On Friday, July 23, Toronto Hash Mob protests the police state our city became during the G-20 Summit with the Summer of Normalization Park Puff Down.  This Eric Compton inspired event is Hash Mobs attempt at taking our city back 1 park at a time.  This week we will go to the site of G-20′s tent city, Allen Gardens located at Carlton St and Jarvis St for a 4:20 session in the park.

We plan to walk down to the park from Vapor Central around 3:00 PM weather permitting.  We invite all to bring their friends, bring your buds, bongs, pipes, frisbees, hackey sacks, drums, guitars, bubbles to the park and enjoy your city with us.  To add to the ganja good times Hash Mob plans on blasting off a 7 foot Super Soaker Rocket Ship that promises to launch 100 feet in the air.

Finally, Saturday, July 24, Toronto Hash Mob will join other activists in the continuing anti G-20 protest marches.  Event takes place on the South lawn of Queens Park around noon with a march to Queen and Spadina at 1 PM.

Stoner Salutations,

Members of Toronto Hash Mob will be out-and-about today (Saturday July 17) asking the question Why Prohibition. Besides attending Treating Yourself medicinal marijuana expo, many Hash Mobbers, including those wild ones from Vansterdam, are planning on carrying the weed flag at Queens Park protesting last month G-20 police state actions.

The Queens Park rally (Saturday, July 17 starts at 1:30) is organized by peace niks and labor, promising plenty of fun activism activities. Nothing to be frightened of here. Go down on Queens Park to enjoy the sunshine, listen to some speakers and music, and blaze one with your Canada’s hardest working weed crew, Hash Mob.

Toronto Hash Mob member MaddChronic is manning the Hasweesh booth at Treating Yourself med pot expo. That dude’s whole wardrobe is hemp from Hasweesh. Though he’s not in the fashion show. Or at least it’s not on his calendar…

Toronto Hash Mob coach Matt Mernagh is manning the End Prohibition booth between noon and 4:20. Known for his outlandish attire and antics who knows what Mernahuana may get up too.

You’ve been informed.
